The Grouting Engineers/Consultants are responsible for planning, executing, and supervising grouting operations in offshore construction projects — such as foundation grouting for jackets or monopiles, pipeline support, riser clamps, or subsea structures. This role is highly technical and operational, requiring strong coordination with the offshore crew, vessel team, and onshore engineering support.
Grouting Operations Planning
• Review grouting specifications and project requirements (e.g. grout type, volume, pressure, injection method)
• Develop and validate grouting procedures, including:
– Grout mix designs (cementitious, microfine, or epoxy-based)
– Grouting pressure limits and flow rate targets
– Acceptance criteria and contingency plans
• Prepare or review method statements and risk assessments (RAMS)
Supervision of Offshore Grouting Execution
• Lead and supervise the execution of offshore grouting works, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
• Monitor and record real-time grouting parameters, including:
– Pressure, flow rate, volume, and temperature
• Coordinate closely with:
– Grout mixing operators
– Mechanical fitters
– ROV team (for visual confirmation of grout flow/sealing)
– QA/QC personnel
Equipment and Material Oversight
• Ensure all grouting equipment is commissioned, calibrated, and fully functional:
– Mixers, agitators, pumps, valves, hoses, pressure gauges
• Monitor grout material inventory and mixing to ensure proper ratio and consistency
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or material issues with the mechanical/electrical team
Data Logging and Reporting
• Maintain detailed logs of:
– Start and end times for grout injections
– Pressures, flow rates, and volumes injected per location
– Any anomalies or deviations from the procedure
• Produce daily progress reports and final grouting records for client handover and certification
Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards (e.g. DNV, API, ISO), and client-specific requirements
• Conduct or oversee testing of fresh and hardened grout, including:
– Flow cone tests, bleed tests, compressive strength tests
• Participate in audits, NCR resolution, and QA/QC documentation reviews
Safety Leadership
• Ensure all operations follow offshore HSE regulations and best practices
• Lead or participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations
• Implement safety controls for high-pressure injection systems, confined spaces, and heavy lifting tasks
