Superintendents/Supervisors

Offshore Grouting Superintendents/Supervisors

Pre-Operational Planning

• Review project specifications, offshore procedures, and grouting requirements
• Coordinate with the offshore construction manager, engineers, and marine crew to plan grouting activities
• Ensure all required materials, equipment, and spares are mobilised and inspected prior to offshore deployment

Supervision of Grouting Operations

• Lead and supervise offshore grouting works such as:
 – Pile sleeve grouting
 – Jacket foundation grouting
 – Suction pile sealing
 – Subsea pipeline supports
• Ensure correct mix ratios, pumping pressures, flow rates, and curing procedures are followed
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of grouting equipment (e.g. batch mixers, pumps, hoses, injection systems)

Quality Assurance & Control

• Monitor all grouting parameters and ensure compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards
• Conduct grout testing (density, bleed, compressive strength, etc.) before and during injection
• Inspect grout installation zones (e.g. via ROV or post-installation surveys)

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with offshore HSE protocols and safety case regulations
• Lead toolbox talks, risk assessments (JSA/JHA), and daily safety briefings
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and cementitious materials

Coordination and Communication

• Liaise with Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs), client representatives, barge masters, and ROV teams
• Provide real-time updates on grouting progress, issues, and contingency measures
• Communicate with onshore support teams regarding logistics, technical input, and material resupply

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of:
 – Grout volumes
 – Mix designs
 – Injection pressures and durations
 – Batch test results
 – Location-specific grouting logs
• Submit daily shift reports and final grouting completion reports to project management

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support the offshore grouting crew (mixers, pump operators, assistants)
• Provide training and mentorship in offshore safety and technical execution
• Coordinate crew rotations and work schedules in accordance with offshore shift cycles

Skills & Qualifications Typically Required

• Minimum 10 years of offshore grouting experience preferred
• Familiarity with industry standards such as DNV, API, or ISO
• Valid offshore survival and safety certifications:
 – BOSIET / FOET
 – HUET
 – CA-EBS
 – H2S Awareness
• Understanding of marine conditions, vessel operations, and offshore logistics
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and under challenging offshore conditions
